Electrical Project Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer (Head Office - Applecross) to continue with the growth of our business and work collaboratively as part of a team during tendering, ECI/FEED studies, and executing D&C projects.

Your Roles, Duties and Responsibilities:

The Electrical Engineer is critical in delivering Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) projects at Kerman Contracting, coordinating all electrical activities across assigned projects with the engineering team and consulting engineers. This includes planning, scheduling, executing, and monitoring electrical engineering work to ensure compliance with Australian standards, project specifications, and Kerman’s internal quality and safety systems.

The position requires strong technical capability, practical site experience (advantageous), and excellent communication skills to manage multidisciplinary interfaces and achieve project objectives. The role would suit a qualified electrician with strong computer skills seeking to transition into an engineering coordination and interface management pathway, or a practically focused qualified electrical engineer.

About you:

  • Electrical Engineering degree or Electrical Trade qualification with strong technical and computer skills (such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, Microsoft Office, and scheduling tools).
  • Practical knowledge and experience in design and construction, particularly in NPI projects (such as villages, modular buildings, warehouses, heavy and light vehicle workshops, bulk fuel, bulk lubricant, power distribution systems, comms, instrumentation, and services infrastructure).
  • Ability to read, interpret, and review complex electrical drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills to liaise effectively across engineering, construction, and client teams.
  • Knowledge of applicable Australian Standards and major mining company specifications.
  • Experience working with Rio Tinto and EPCMs is desirable.
